Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a full-time Project Engineering Supervisor to strategically manage capital projects and lead project engineers at the Hunt Valley Plant.

This role reports to an Engineering Manager and requires strong cross-functional leadership, execution discipline, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a TPM framework.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years Engineering and Project Management experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in continuous improvement environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management process.
  • Experience with handling multiple projects, using a variety of execution strategies and methodologies, as required.
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization throughout the project development and execution process will be critical to deliver a strategic capital plan.
  • Maintains strong relationships with NA Engineering, Marketing, Packaging Development, Quality, Maintenance and Operations to meet the needs of the overall business.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching, and leading technology and skills development. Will be the primary interface for the engineering discipline. Leadership of exempt staff to achieve business objectives.
  • Position requires ability to effectively communicate project implementation to all levels of the organization. Strong cross-functional strategic leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to translate strategy into actionable information in small or large groups in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • This position strategically manages capital projects, directs the activities of project engineers within their Discipline and develops Engineering/Project Management, Process and Technology Standardization at the Hunt Valley Plant.
  • Incumbent is responsible for leading Discipline's overall goals, objectives and strategies as they relate to the Campus' capital strategy development and implementation to support the Business' goals for building capability, reliability, cost reduction, waste reduction, safety, quality and sanitation improvements, and downtime reduction in a TPM environment.
  • The incumbent is also responsible for the management of project engineers and/or external engineering resources, as well as oversight for all related projects.
  • This position demonstrates a deep respect for the capabilities of all people, believing that people will contribute to what they understand, and feel is in their best and self-interest. Must be able to structure their approach based on the core belief that the success of the company depends upon the capabilities and contributions of all people in the organization.
  • The role directly leads engineers, vendors, contractors, engineering firms, and suppliers.
