Job summary

ITT Aerospace Controls in Valencia, CA is offering a Summer 2027 Project Engineering Intern position. You will work with experienced engineers, supporting aerospace and industrial programs, and gain hands-on experience in project planning, schedules, and documentation.

This 40-hour/week internship runs May–August 2027, ideal for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering majors, with mentorship and exposure to NPI activities, risk tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong interest in project management and aerospace industries.

Responsibilities

• Support project engineers in planning aerospace and industrial programs.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and action items.
• Maintain project documentation including plans, minutes, risk registers, and status reports.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and follow-up activities.
• Assist with project status reporting by gathering performance data.
• Support scheduling and resource tracking for projects.
• Learn requirements management and documentation traceability.
• Identify and track project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Prepare materials and coordinate logistics for reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and operations teams.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and product development projects.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve execution and efficiency.
• Conduct research and analysis to support PM and business objectives.
• Complete special projects as needed.

Position Summary

Position: Project Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Valencia, CA

Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

Internship Schedule:May - August 2027, full-time, 40 hours per week

Essential Responsibilities

• Support project engineers in the planning and execution of aerospace and industrial programs.
• Assist in tracking project schedules, milestones, action items, and deliverables.
• Help maintain project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, risk registers, and status reports.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and assist with follow-up activities.
• Support project status reporting by gathering and analyzing project performance data.
• Assist with project planning activities, including schedule updates and resource tracking.
• Learn and support requirements management processes, including documentation and traceability activities.
• Help identify and track project risks, issues, and opportunities.
• Support customer and internal project reviews by preparing materials and coordinating logistics.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to support project objectives.

Position Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
