Overview

This position is responsible for providing engineering support for water/wastewater utility projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide design calculations, technical reports, permitting, engineering plans, and specifications for water and wastewater facilities, including distribution and collection systems, lift stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Analyze and design water distribution systems, including demand projections and extended period simulations.
  • Analyze and design water collection systems, including demand projections and lift station design.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and contract cost estimates as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas.
  • 15 or more years' experience managing substantial water and wastewater projects from conception to completion.
  • 10 or more years’ experience managing municipal utility district clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations, and forcemains.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facility design and construction.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials, and community leaders.
  • Active involvement in professional associations and civic organizations.
  • Availability to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
