Job summary

WSB is a design and consulting firm focused on Transportation, Community Planning, Environmental, Energy, Municipal, and Construction services. This role involves leading water resources projects, performing design calculations, preparing plans, and writing reports.

You will oversee technicians, engage in field work, and participate in public meetings while advancing with multiple project teams within time and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
• 4–12 years of experience in Water Resources or related field.
• Minnesota PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation for water resources projects.
• Compile and edit technical reports, feasibility studies, letters, memos, and specifications.
• Oversee Engineering Technicians and graduate engineers; supervise field tasks as needed.
• Participate in public meetings and present project information.

What you will do:

• Work on various Stormwater and Water Resource related projects including but not limited to Reuse, Streambank, Culvert Design, Flood Reduction, Water Quality, and other.


• Performing specific design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation.


• Compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, feasibility reports, letters, memos and specifications on Water Resources projects.


• Perform tasks or observe projects in the field as required.


• Be involved in public meetings and have other presentation opportunities.


• Oversee the work of Engineering Technicians and graduate engineers.

As you advance in your career:

• You may plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure that projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets.


• You may lead multiple work teams, manage multiple complex projects, identify new projects, formulate project approaches, lead the proposal process, formulate, track and meet project budgets and schedules, and market to and secure work from new and existing clients.

Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision received.

What you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school and 4-12 years of experience in Water Resources or related field.


• Our preferred candidate will have their Minnesota PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.


• Must possess a valid driver’s license along with a clean driving record and have the ability to work in a variety of locations.

Pay Range The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $38.50 - $62.50 / hour
