Job summary

Garver Engineering in Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a Project Engineer - Water to support water and wastewater design and planning for clients across Texas. You will lead distribution and collection system design, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and CAD technicians, and produce reports, drawings and specifications.

Requires ABET‑accredited degree in engineering, PE within six months, 3+ years water/wastewater experience, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree (civil, mechanical, biological, or environmental)
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• 3+ years of water/wastewater design experience
• Familiarity with ODEQ regulations
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Design and planning for water/wastewater projects (distribution and collection systems)
• Produce design phase deliverables (reports, memoranda, plans, drawings, specifications)
• Collaborate with Senior Project Manager and CAD technicians
• Lead a team of junior engineers and CAD staff to meet design, budget and schedule

Project Engineer - Water

Fort Worth, Texas (also Dallas or Frisco)

Overview

The Project Engineer will perform a wide array of Water Business Line planning, modeling and design projects for Garver's clients in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Distribution systems, including conveyance and network piping, pump stations, storage units and reservoirs
• Collection systems, including interceptor, network and outfall piping, pump stations
• Producing design phase deliverables such as reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, sections, details and specifications
• Collaborating with a Senior Project Manager and a multidisciplinary team of design engineers and CAD technicians

Key Skills and Capabilities

• Ability to work closely with clients to ensure quality deliverables
• Effective communication with internal and external clients individually or in groups, presentations
• Ability to lead a team of junior project engineers and CAD technicians to accomplish design, budget and project requirements
• Desire to gain marketing and project management experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to gain within 6 months of hire
• 3 or more years of related water/wastewater design experience
• Familiarity with ODEQ regulations
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

Preferred Skills

• WaterCAD, SewerCAD or Civil3D experience
• Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Design/build experience
