Job summary

Sargent Electric Company in Pittsburgh, PA seeks two Project Engineers for our Shippingport project site. You will convert field questions into RFIs and submittals, track quantities, maintain field records, and support change documentation for a large IBEW electrical and MV project.

Reporting to the On-Site Assistant Project Manager, you’ll coordinate with area supervision, foremen, and BIM-VDC to resolve clashes, maintain redlines, and uphold safety standards while growing technically through

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Experience with ProjectSight, Vista, Bluebeam, Procore, Navisworks, MS Office.
• Excellent written communication and proficiency with computers.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and ability to work with field supervision, engineers, vendors, owner.
• Ability to work under tight timeframes and manage multiple priorities.

We are seeking to hire a twoProject Engineersin our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role will be on the project site in Shippingport.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role supports the Bloom PIT Campus Power Station, a large cost-plus, open-book, self-perform IBEW electrical and medium-voltage project. Reporting to On-Site Assistant Project Manager, the position converts field questions into trackable Request for Information (RFIs) and submittals, records installed quantities and keeps field documents current.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Prepare and Track RFIs. Develop and track RFIs for the areaand other assigned areas with field supervision, follow up on responses, and relay answers to the field the same day.
• Measure Progress. Record installed quantities and progress from daily reports and provide accurate quantities to Project Controls.
• Support Change Documentation. Document field conditions, directed work, labor, and equipment to support backup for changes and delays.
• Manage Submittals and Drawing Revisions. Prepare and track submittals, review for compliance and constructability, compare drawing revisions, and communicate field and material impacts.
• Maintain Current Field Records. Support the constraint and issue log, verify installed work against current documents, and maintain redlines and as-built markups.
• Constraint and Issue Log. Support APMin maintaining the area field constraint and issue log.
• Clash Resolution. Work with the BIM-VDC Manager to resolve clashes and keep the coordination model current for the area.
• Installed Work Verification. Verify installed work against current documents and maintain redlines and as-built markups.
• Coordination. Work with Area Superintendentand the foremen on constraints and information needs, and keep APMinformed of open items
• Resolve Coordination Issues. Work with the Area Superintendent, foremen, and BIM-VDC Manager to resolve clashes, address constraints, and keep the coordination model current.
• Champion Safety Culture. Lead by example in upholding safety standards and support best practices across field and office environments, reinforcing expectations established by project leadership and the on-site Safety Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals; familiarity with medium-voltage or substation work is a plus.
• Experience with ProjectSight, Vista, Bluebeam, Procore, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and related construction applications.
• Excellent written communication skills and proficiency with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with field supervision, engineers, vendors, the general contractor, and the owner.
• The ability to work efficiently under tight timeframes, respond to requests promptly, collaborate as a team player, and manage multiple priorities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 0 to 3 years of related experience in electrical or multi-trade construction; internship or co-op experience will be considered.
• Experience with BESS, fuel cell, or utility-scale power projects preferred.li>
