Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer in Miami to support structural design from concept through construction. You will work with design and analysis tools, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and build technical expertise while learning project-management fundamentals.

Ideal candidates have a degree in structural/civil engineering and 3–5 years of experience with ETABS, RAM, RISA, SAFE, and Revit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering; five years of experience in design and analysis of mid- to high-rise buildings using ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; three years of experience in design and analysis of mid- to high-rise buildings using ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Three years of relevant experience in analyzing building structures using computer modeling methods and preparing structural calculations.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Experience working in Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design and analysis using tools such as Revit, Rhino, ETABS, and SAP.
  • Assist in preparing drawings, calculations, and documentation for design deliverables.
  • Coordinate with architects, clients, and other design team members to ensure design alignment.
  • Conduct field observations and inspections under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to project planning and scheduling discussions with Project Managers.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you’ll play a key role in the structural design process—supporting projects from concept through construction. What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • BS or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in structural design or analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic engineering team.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; five (5) years of experience in design and analysis of mid‑to‑high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; three (3) years of experience in design and analysis of mid‑to‑high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Three years of relevant experience in analyzing building structures using computer modeling methods and preparing structural calculations.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
  • Experience working in Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving, and team skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) license.
  • Experience working in Grasshopper, a plus.
Salary & Benefits

This is a salaried, exempt position with an anticipated base salary range of $89,000–$95,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates are typically hired near the midpoint of the range, ensuring a balanced and equitable approach across our team.
