Project Leader 1 – MEP Construction
This position will support the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, project completion and profitable outcomes for a significantly complex project &/or multiple projects simultaneously. It requires proficient understanding and knowledge of prime, or general contracting with experience overseeing one or more disciplines related to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural systems preferred.

Responsibilities
A Project Manager in the construction business plays a pivotal role in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and successfully.
- Project planning and scheduling: develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules; ensure that resources, manpower, and materials are allocated effectively.
- Budget management: prepare and manage project budgets; monitor expenditures and keep projects within financial constraints.
- Team coordination and leadership: oversee teams of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other staff; promote collaboration and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Quality control and compliance: conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards; ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Risk management: identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies; address issues promptly to minimize delays or additional costs.
- Client and stakeholder communication: serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders; provide updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
- Procurement and resource management: oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment; ensure timely delivery to the construction site.
- Problem solving: handle unexpected challenges such as site issues or material delays; adapt plans to maintain progress without compromising quality or safety.
- Documentation and reporting: maintain accurate records of project activities, financials, and progress; prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Safety management: implement and enforce safety protocols on‑site.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum 7+ years of experience in construction specific to MEP systems, modular delivery &/or critical power industries with a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering discipline; 5+ years of related MEP construction experience with a master’s degree preferred. Strong experience managing relationships with owners’ representatives, architects, engineers, and clients while supervising subcontractors and vendors is a priority.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of MEP construction management disciplines for mission critical, government, and commercial industries.
- Previous experience managing diverse project teams and contractors for projects valued between $20M – $100M+ in total contract value.
- Ability to use software: Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera P6.
Position Requirements
- Direct experience and clear understanding of the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
- Previous experience in prime or specialty contracting solutions, including MEP construction management.
- Strong understanding of key competencies aligned to project planning, installation and project completion.
- Engineering and design development.
- Bid‑package creation and final estimate review with proficiency in Accubid preferred.
- Project schedule development & tracking.
- Project financials and cost tracking.
- Business acumen and leadership abilities.
- Experienced in commissioning and testing of diverse specialty systems.
Experience Desired
- PMP certification.
- Modular fabrication project delivery.
- Accubid.
- Primavera P6.
