Weston is seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer with a background in mechanical or civil engineering, specifically for water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, pressurized systems, and piping design. The ideal candidate will have experience in installation, design of new and renovation of existing systems, remediation systems, industrial treatment, manufacturing operations, and drinking water. The candidate should have participated in team-based projects in design and field commissioning, with a strong sense of community learning and mentorship.

Location: Various offices in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas (Texas); West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH. Remote work considered for very strong applicants.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with an active NCEES account; ability to quickly obtain registration in additional states.
  • Experience with drinking water facilities, wastewater treatment, conveyance, remediation systems, energy providers, and government clients.
  • Knowledge in conveyance piping and pressurized piping design, including pump sizing, transient pressures, pipe flow, and head loss calculations.
  • Familiarity with environmental consulting, permitting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency with analysis tools and modeling software for pipe networks and mechanical systems; knowledge of CAD programs like AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing, evaluating, and negotiating construction bids for private and government projects.
  • Effective communication skills for report writing, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to develop scopes of work, evaluate quotes, and manage subcontractors and vendors.
  • Capability to respond to RFPs with technical approaches and competitive pricing.
  • Strong communication with engineering teams on design and technical tasks.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for Federal projects.
  • Willingness to perform site visits and bid walks with effective note-taking and field markups.

  • Reviewing data, reports, and specifications; conducting quality control checks.
  • Leading proposal efforts and project cost development.
  • Engaging in professional societies and client interactions.

Salary Range: $66,400 - $88,600 - $110,700
