Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support mechanical projects within our Nuclear Services Group. You will develop winning proposals with technical staff, oversee budgets and schedules, and maintain strong client relationships as you drive project success.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of nuclear, power, or industrial engineering/PM experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering or PMP with 10 years of applicable experience.
  • PE license strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and work with budgets and accounting processes.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 10–15% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interdisciplinary design engineering coordination and act as a technical leader; manage client interactions, negotiate scope, and be the single point of contact.
  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects on schedule and within budget; manage staff and produce project reports and financial status.

Overview

Join ENERCON as a Project Engineer supporting mechanical projects for our Nuclear Services Group. Your role involves developing winning engineering proposals with technical staff, executing projects within budget and schedule constraints, and maintaining robust client relationships. With your proven management skills, you’ll oversee project schedules, financials, and reporting while actively supporting marketing endeavors to propel business growth. Locations

This role can be based at any of our nuclear office locations, including but not limited to:

  • Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Naperville, IL
  • Remote can be considered for senior candidates
Responsibilities

A typical day in this role includes leading strategic project discussions, aligning your team to meet quality and deadlines, keeping clients informed and engaged. You will dive into problem‑solving, manage budgets, refine proposals, and identify new opportunities while motivating your team to turn challenges into wins.

  • Leadership & Coordination: Provide interdisciplinary coordination for design engineering projects and serve as a technical leader to ensure project solutions and quality goals are met. Manage client interactions, negotiate and control project scope, and act as a single point of contact.
  • Project Management Excellence: Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to established schedule and within budget. Understand project schedules, management plans, manage staff, formulate detailed project reports, and report on financial status and performance.
  • Strategic Growth & Innovation: Work with technical staff to develop winning, highly technical engineering proposals and aggressively support marketing efforts, including identification of new opportunities, proposal preparation, and follow‑up.
Qualifications
  • Design Engineering experience in the modification and implementation process, calculations, specifications, etc., in power facilities.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the nuclear, power, or industrial industries as an Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering (or related) OR PMP Certification and 10 years’ applicable experience.
  • PE license strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision‑making, and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
  • Ability to travel 10–15% of the time; duration may vary from a few days to a few weeks.
Compensation

USD $90,000.00 – USD $175,000.00 per year.
