Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking a Project Engineer (Low Voltage / Data Center) to act as the technical lead across design, implementation, and closeout. You will guide engineering decisions, mentor teams, and coordinate with sales to translate client needs into actionable designs.

You will drive LOE design, BOM accuracy, and documentation quality while managing escalations and ensuring alignment with client requirements. The role offers strong growth in a multinational tech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical project teams.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and low voltage technologies.
• Proficient in BOM development, field change documentation, and project closeout procedures.
• Experience with CAD, Revit, and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and direction while working alongside Project Engineers, Project Coordinators and Implementations Specialist ensuring standardization, quality, and efficiency.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex design or implementation challenges (3rd-level escalations).
• Lead the development of Level of Effort (LOE) program designs and review BOMs; participate in sales engagements.
• Oversee project progress from a technical perspective and manage escalations; initiate Field Change Orders (FCOs).
• Review and submit final engineering deliverables to the PMO for project closure; approve vendor invoices.
• Lead After Action Review meetings to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.

About the role

The Project Engineer (PE) serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert, supporting multiple accounts with high-level engineering oversight. This position enhances the traditional Project Engineer role by incorporating leadership, presales collaboration, and ownership across the full project lifecycle—design, implementation, and closeout.The PE plays a key role in both engineering execution and customer engagement. They guide technical decisions, ensure quality and consistency, assist with project scoping and quoting, and manage escalations throughout the delivery process. By bridging engineering, project management, and sales teams, the PE helps drive successful outcomes for both the company and its clients.

Annual Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000

Project Lifecycle Ownership

• Design Phase:
• Lead the development of Level of Effort (LOE) program designs.
• Review and create accurate, scalable Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Participate in sales development engagements to translate customer needs into actionable designs.
• Develop account-specific engineering programs to support long-term success.
• Implementation Phase:
• Oversee project progress from a technical perspective.
• Manage critical escalations and ensure technical solutions are implemented effectively.
• Initiate and create Field Change Orders (FCOs) in response to evolving project conditions.
• Closeout Phase:
• Review and submit final engineering deliverables to the PMO for project closure.
• Approve vendor invoices to ensure alignment with deliverables and scope.
• Lead After Action Review meetings to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.
• Finalize and update RAF (Required Asset Form) documentation.
• Collaborate with sales and solution teams to scope and quote new opportunities.
• Ensure all proposed solutions are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with client requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings and contribute technical expertise during proposal development.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Maintain high standards across all technical deliverables.
• Ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and aligned with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA).
• Champion process improvements and technical innovation within the team.

What you have

• 5+ years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States

• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring technical project teams.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and low voltage technologies.
• Proficient in BOM development, field change documentation, and project closeout procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with construction drawings, CAD, or Revit
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
• Experience working in a matrix-style project organization.
