Vertiv is seeking a Project Engineer to lead HDLC and IS installation projects across the United States from the Lorain, OH region. You will manage the technical execution from procurement through commissioning, coordinating with installers and ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 3+ years of experience, and travel up to 50% within the U.S., with hands-on guidance to installation teams and thorough project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or project engineering.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S.
• Ability to read P&IDs and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on liquid cooling and IS installation projects, providing guidance to installation teams.
• Lead installation of CDUs, SFN manifolds, Rear Door Heat Exchangers, SmartRow 2 & VACS systems from planning through commissioning.
• Develop and manage Bills of Material (BOMs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Perform pre-installation site walks to assess readiness and validate design assumptions.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance to installation crews and resolve issues.
• Create and maintain project documentation and procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with Vertiv standards, client requirements, and codes.
• Coordinate with Project Management to monitor schedules and report progress.
