Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer – Intern to gain hands-on experience with a Southeast-based general contractor. This role is based in our corporate office in Tampa, FL, offering exposure to project planning, coordination, and daily operations under supervision.

As an intern, you will assist with planning, reviewing project plans, bids, and safety compliance while contributing to teamwork and data entry tasks within a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and assists the Project Engineer & Project Manager with planning, organization, and completion of the project within an assigned area.
• Various duties may include reviewing project plans and conferring with management.
• Reviewing bids from contractors.
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Data entry for project documentation and tracking.
• Assisting the Project Manager or Project Engineer with daily tasks and duties.
