Job summary

ANDRITZ Metals USA seeks a Project Engineer to manage equipment projects for furnaces and strip processing within steel and aluminum industries. You will lead design and start-up activities, collaborate with engineering, procurement, and logistics, and support customers from installation through commissioning.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in related design/start-up, and hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, CAD tools, and strong

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• EIT or PE certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design, project engineering and start-up of similar equipment.
• Experience with coil processing and finishing line equipment in the steel and aluminum industries.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic systems, and mechanical design required.

Responsibilities

• Review technical requirements of sales contracts.
• Communicate required scope with engineering department.
• Monitor engineering progress for technical requirements and schedule.
• Approve and release final design packages to logistics.
• Track progress on procurement and manufacturing.
• Final inspections of equipment.
• Support customer through installation and commissioning.
• Approximately 25% domestic/international travel is required; onsite work may be lengthy.
