Job description

Project Engineer – Land Development

(Fortune 500 homebuilder )

Ready to turn raw acreage into thriving neighborhoods? Join a national land-development powerhouse and help shape the communities where families will build their first memories.

Why This Role Rocks
  • Nationwide impact, local feel. Work for a Fortune 500 builder with deep resources while collaborating in an agile, close-knit project team.

  • Own the full lifecycle. From feasibility to final walkthrough, you’ll shepherd projects and see your designs come to life.

  • Mentor-and-be-mentored. Guide E.I.T.s and CAD talent while learning from senior leaders who wrote the playbook.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the technical and financial side of multi-million-dollar land-development projects.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of E.I.T.s, CAD designers, sub-consultants, and contractors—keeping deliverables on time, on budget, and on spec.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, review agencies, and jurisdictional staff; navigate approvals with confidence.

  • Provide construction-phase services—site visits, bid documents, submittal reviews, pay apps, and punch-list closeout.

  • Stay ahead of evolving local, state, and federal regulations; translate code changes into practical design guidance.

  • Champion quality, safety, and ethical practice in every decision you make.

What You Bring
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • Registered P.E. (or ability to obtain quickly) in the state of employment.

  • 5+ years of progressive land-development engineering experience.

  • Fluency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and solid command of MS Office (Project, Excel, Word).

  • Proven ability to mentor junior staff, coordinate multiple disciplines, and juggle competing deadlines.

  • Clear, persuasive communicator—equally comfortable with field crews, city councils, and C-suite stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel overnight for site and agency meetings when needed.

Stand-Out Benefits
  • Medical, vision, and dental plans that start quickly.

  • 401(k) with company match plus employee-stock-purchase program—for building wealth while you build neighborhoods.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts, life insurance, and disability coverage.

  • Generous PTO package: vacation, sick, personal, and company holidays.
