Job summary

System One seeks a Project Engineer to support field execution on large industrial and power projects in Clarksburg, WV. This role will bridge engineering design and construction, focusing on mechanical installation, commissioning, and on-site problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of field engineering, industrial construction, or power experience.
• Experience on industrial, energy, or power projects.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (piping, rotating equipment, HVAC, etc.) and civil/structural interfaces.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with EPC projects in power, chemical processing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
• Combined Cycle Power Plant experience.
• Exposure to commissioning and startup activities.
• Experience working with contractors and vendors in the field.
• Previous experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Construction Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, scheduling, and work package coordination.
• Support QA/QC inspections, documentation, and field reporting.

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.

This position will serve as a key technical resource in the field, bridging engineering design and construction execution while supporting installation, construction, and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting mechanical systems installation on power , energy, or heavy industrial projects and possess the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

  • Electrical systems and equipment interfaces

• Experience with EPC projects in power , chemical processing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
