Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a project engineer to conceptualize, design, coordinate and manage start-up of midstream natural gas facilities, including meter stations, compressor stations, dehydration, amine treating, and gas plants.

The position requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and at least four years of experience; based in Houston with an additional Denver location, offering a salary range from $122,900 to $212,000 plus benefits.

• Manages project performance and communicates with multi-discipline teams of internal stakeholders.
• Leads multiple projects from conception to commissioning and start-up.
• Acts as a safety leader, drives safety meetings, supports HES goals, and follows MOC and energy isolation procedures.

Position Summary

This position’s primary focus is to conceptualize, design, coordinate and manage through start-up, the construction of midstream natural gas facilities including meter stations, compressor stations, dehydration, amine treating, gas plants and other related facilities. All work will be performed in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with affected departments during project development to vet resource estimates, schedules, business benefits, environmental/health/safety impacts.


• Develops, implements, and manages capital and expense projects for business unit while adhering to budgets and project management processes.


• Facilitates project detailed design and technical reviews to ensure design meets corporate engineering standards.


• Manages, controls, and communicates project performance to multi-discipline project teams consisting of internal stakeholders.


• Manages multiple projects simultaneously of varying magnitude and complexity from conception to commissioning and start-up.


• Acts as a safety leader who upholds company core values and prioritizes personal and process safety. Prepares and leads engaging project safety meetings, drives safely, utilizes the MOC process, and supports the development and implementation of business partner energy isolation procedures. Supports department and company HES goals.


• Troubleshoots operational issues and optimizes processes utilizing sound engineering practices.


• Leads project safety reviews including HAZOPs, PHAs, PSSRs, etc.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or electrical engineering or other engineering degree from ABET accredited institution OR registered professional engineer (with relevant experience) required.


• Four (4) years or more of experience required.


• Preferred engineering experience to include meter stations, compressor stations, dehydration, amine treating, gas plants, and other related facilities.
