At IPS, we apply our knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We are looking for a dedicated Project Engineer III to join our talented team at our office in Somerset, NJ.

In this role, you will be assigned to projects to review, coordinate, and summarize activities related to cost control, planning and scheduling, document control, and estimating. You will support the Project Manager in delivering individual projects, focusing on quality objectives. Additionally, you will ensure safety objectives are met, coordinate resources to achieve project goals, interact with clients, and promote positive relationships.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Assist in developing and maintaining preconstruction, construction, and closeout plans.
  2. Understand and apply prime contract requirements to project activities.
  3. Coordinate review and approval processes with senior management and communicate outcomes to the project team.
  4. Support the development of project scopes of work and communicate these to the team.
  5. Maintain awareness of the project budget and identify deviations during project execution.
  6. Assist in preparing change control and related financial documentation.
  7. Coordinate safety resources to monitor site safety and address nonconformances.
  8. Monitor design content and quality, and coordinate revisions for constructability and compliance.
  9. Assist with procurement and resource coordination, including intra- and inter-divisional activities.
  10. Support the preparation of subcontracts, purchase orders, and change control documentation.
  11. Evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy.
  12. Ensure project activities comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  13. Identify and analyze potential project issues.
  14. Promote effective communication and teamwork within the project teams.

Qualifications & Requirements
  1. 12-16 years of professional experience.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or construction management.
  3. Professional credentials such as CCT, CCP, CST, CSP, EVP, CMIT, CCM, PMP, or EIT are highly encouraged.
  4. Experience with industry-standard software including MS Office, Primavera, MS Project, ERP systems (JDE, QUAD, SAP, ARIBA, CONCUR), and PPM software (Prolog, Proliance, Prism G2, Procore, Cleopatra, Cora Systems).
Context, Environment, & Safety

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team without significant supervision.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods, and use computers extensively.
  • Experience working in both office and field environments.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
