We're looking for a skilled and self-driven Project Engineer with a strong background in overhead and underground distribution design. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, make independent decisions, and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals - all while shaping the future of energy delivery.

About the Company: This established engineering consulting firm specializes in utility infrastructure, offering services in power delivery, substation design, system planning, and renewable integration. With decades of experience and multiple offices across the U.S., the company supports clients through turnkey solutions from design to construction. Now part of a global infrastructure group, it continues to deliver high-quality, safety-focused engineering with a personalized approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate electric distribution projects (overhead & underground) in compliance with NESC, RUS, and other standards.
  • Review and seal distribution designs to ensure quality and code compliance.
  • Collaborate with clients, utilities, and stakeholders to coordinate design and construction.
  • Assist with permitting, easement acquisition, and project documentation.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including reports, calculations, plans, and construction specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations; document findings and provide actionable feedback.
  • Manage multiple active projects with attention to budget, schedule, safety, and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in distribution design (overhead and underground).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong communication and project management skills; Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and conduct field work as needed.
