Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural design firm in Orange Park, Florida, is seeking a Project Engineer II – Water/Wastewater to join our Civil/Municipal team. The role focuses on preparing design plans, specs, and reports for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, including hydraulic modeling and coordination with drafting personnel.

Qualified candidates will hold a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, have an EIT certification (PE preferred), and demonstrate

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering is required.
• EIT certification; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
• Team-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design plans, specs, and reports for water/wastewater and stormwater projects.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling for stormwater, water, and sewer systems.
• Interact with public/private clients and agencies.
• Review designs with engineers and coordinate with drafting staff.
• Prepare calculations and develop drawings/visuals; assist with data collection and analysis.
• Manage time/workload to stay on schedule and budget.
• Assist with site investigations and project transmittals.

CPH has an opening in our Orange Park, Florida office location for the following position:

Project Engineer II – Water/Wastewater

Duties Include

• Preparation of design plans, specifications, and reports for a variety of water/wastewater and stormwater projects which may include transmission, distribution, collection, treatment, storage, utility master planning, permitting and various engineering tasks.


• Hydraulic modeling including stormwater pre/post and advanced treatment and storage design along with water and sewer pumping systems and hydraulic water distribution modeling.


• Ability to successfully interact with various public and private clients and other jurisdictional agencies.


• Review of design plans and assist registered engineer on plan modifications. Coordinate with drafting personnel to ensure changes are incorporated into the design plans. Ability to review industry and municipal standards to ensure design compliance.


• Preparing engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.


• Working on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps and data presentation, and report development.


• Management of time and workload to stay on schedule and within budget.


• Limited travel to assist with site investigations, construction observation and project transmittals.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.


• EIT certification, PE preferred.


• Detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organizational skills.


• Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software.


• Works well in multidisciplinary team environments and ability to meet deadlines.


• Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.


• Experience with WaterCAD, ICPR and other modeling software is preferred.


• Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
