Sr. Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater

Department: Civil/Municipal
Location: Jacksonville, FL

CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. We have an opening for a Senior Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater to lead our engineering design team on projects from concept through completion. The role coordinates the team, contractors, and vendors to meet project goals within budget and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and production of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Use team‑management skills to guide the design group during the conceptual phase of product development following CPH and client standards and templates.
  • Direct the development of action plans and estimates for resources, labor, materials, and time required to complete the project.
  • Develop technical specifications, evaluate shop drawings, and oversee construction administration duties as Engineer of Record.
  • Assess vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
  • Monitor project progress and compare actual costs with estimates.
  • Work with the design group to modify plans as appropriate when problems arise.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for higher‑level management.
  • Review and study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Travel periodically to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation; prepare or review subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Cooperate with project engineers from other plants to share supervision and support in consolidating construction plans across disciplines and coordinating submissions to regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar platforms.
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team.
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Excellent spoken, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable, and self‑motivated.
Education & Experience
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. license in the state of Florida. Ability to obtain additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required. AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
