Job summary

SEL Inc. is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to apply knowledge of power system studies and SEL products to complex assignments and to train customers on the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.

You will lead work within scope, schedule, and budget, mentor staff, and promote World Class Manufacturing and SEL values. Domestic and international travel of at least 25% is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. In Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and studies practices and philosophies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications.
• Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License or equivalent certification
• Electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator experience
• Project management experience
• Working knowledge of Vision or other project management tracking software

Focus Area = Studies

Studies = demonstrated experience using PSSE, ETAP, and/or RTDS. Strong electrical power systems knowledge.

Pay Range Data

Pay Range Data: $107,600 - $161,500 annually

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the PE II level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.

LEVEL LOWER: $89,400 - $134,100 annually

TARGET LEVEL: $107,600 - $161,500 annually

LEVEL HIGHER: $129,200 - $193,900 annually
