Pepper Construction, a national contracting and construction management firm with offices in the Midwest, seeks a Project Engineer to support safety, direction, and financial outcomes from initial budget through closeout. Responsibilities include budgeting, bid coordination, documentation, and cost management across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in Construction Engineering, 3–5 years in construction, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of construction field experience.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs with direction from a Project Executive or Senior Manager.
• Estimate, value engineer and develop project Budgets with support from a Project Executive.
• Facilitate the subcontractor bid process and track all documentation.
• Utilize software programs and templates to process and track project docs.
• Negotiate subcontracts and plan/schedule projects; manage costs and near-completion activities.
