Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world's largest HVAC company, is seeking a Project Engineer II in Tampa, FL to drive project execution from design through closeout. You will empower cross-functional teams, ensure on-time delivery, and deliver solutions aligned with customer requirements.

You will manage project scope, cost, and schedule, coordinate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing, and provide responsive technical support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 2-4+ years of experience in engineering projects.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Previous commercial HVAC experience.
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall customer satisfaction by ensuring the complete scope of work is communicated, ordered, and delivered.
• Ensure adherence to limits of authority throughout fulfillment.
• Liaise between customer, sales, and factories to address technical issues and questions.
• Communicate project timelines, scheduling, and ship dates with customers.
• Maintain project financials from job costing to invoicing.
• Assist sales with technical product selection and applications.
• Create submittal documents aligned with drawings and scope of work.
• Monitor submittal approvals to minimize schedule impact.
• Provide prompt responses to sales inquiries on applications and pricing.

Location: Tampa, FL - In-Office

Your Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall customer satisfaction by ensuring the complete scope of work purchased by the customer is accurately communicated, ordered, and delivered in full
• Ensure limits of authority are followed throughout the fulfillment process
• Serve as the liaison between the customer, sales team, and equipment factories to troubleshoot and address technical issues and customer questions
• Effectively communicate with the customer to determine project timelines, scheduling, and required ship dates
• Responsible for the accuracy of the project financials from job costing through customer invoicing
• Assist the sales team with technical expertise in the selection/application of standard and/or modified products
• Create professional, technical submittal documents in accordance with the project drawings, specifications, and scope of work sold for submittal to the customer
• Monitor the submittal approval process to minimize impact to the overall project schedule
• Provide prompt, accurate responses to sales inquiries regarding special applications, systems, or pricing (Daikin Applied Tools Quotations).
• Interface with sales team for technical solutions, including use of Daikin energy analyzer and acoustics software, as required
• Partner with sales leader to measure, analyze, and update progress on department financial goals and recommend improvements
• Coordinate with Application Engineering and Technical Response Groups efforts to provide pre- and post-sales support
• Process and execute orders in compliance with the project drawings, specifications, and scope of work sold
• Manage the post-sale process from shipping, start-up requests, and warranty issues through project close out

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
• 2-4+ years of experience in engineering projects
• EIT or PE License (Preferred)
• Previous Commercial HVAC experience
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,200 to $124,300 plus annual bonus in Florida. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
