Elgin Sweeper Company in Elgin, IL is seeking an experienced engineer to lead vehicle integration projects for commercial chassis. You will design and integrate structures, hydraulic and electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, tracking costs and schedule, and delivering robust, serviceable solutions. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years in related roles are required; Siemens NX is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Agricultural Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years experience in project, product design, vehicle integration or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in structural design, manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA, and hydraulic & pneumatic system design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred), engineering drawings, BOMs, PLM systems and engineering change processes.
• Demonstrated project ownership, technical problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

• Prepare project status reports, risk assessments, and executive summaries for stakeholders and leadership.
• Track and control project cost, schedule, and risk for successful program execution.
• Support vehicle testing and validation activities, including performance, durability, safety, and compliance evaluations.
• Perform engineering changes, configuration control, product documentation, and release activities.

Education requirement

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience requirement

3+ years of project, product design, vehicle integration, or systems engineering experience, preferably in mobile machinery, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or specialty equipment.

Skills required

• Proficiency in structural design, manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA, and hydraulic and pneumatic system design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Siemens NX preferred), engineering drawings, BOMs, PLM systems, and engineering change processes.
• Demonstrated project ownership, technical problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Anticipated Salary Range: $82,000 - $90,000
