Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Project Engineer II to lead turbomachinery control system projects, delivering on time, within budget, and to spec. You will coordinate with sales, field engineering, and R&D, and report to the Engineering Manager from our Houston hybrid location.

Responsibilities include full lifecycle management, FAT/SAT, and system integration with CCC Prodigy/Vanguard, Allen-Bradley, and Honeywell Experion, plus robust documentation and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with turbomachinery in industrial environments (Oil & Gas, LNG, or PowerGen).
• Experience with industrial instrumentation and control valves.

Responsibilities

• Manage full engineering lifecycle of turbomachinery control system projects from concept to delivery.
• Participate in technical meetings and design reviews with clients.
• Collaborate with sales, field engineering, and R&D to align objectives.
• Develop project documentation including I/O lists, diagrams, and FAT/SAT procedures.
• Conduct internal testing and lead FAT with clients, resolving punch-lists.
• Program and configure PLC/DCS platforms; develop HMI graphics; implement Modbus/HART protocols.
• Develop and manage project schedules, resources, and timelines.
• Learn and improve CCC turbomachinery control algorithms and contribute to product/process enhancements.
• Provide remote support during on-site commissioning.

As a Project Engr II here at Honeywell, you will manage and execute engineering projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and quality completion. Collaborate with teams to define scope, objectives, and deliverables, driving project success. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Houston location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Honeywell's CCC business unit is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to design, engineer, and deliver advanced turbomachinery control systems for compressors, steam turbines, and gas turbines across the Oil & Gas, LNG, and Energy sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that impact operational efficiency, safety and reliability for leading energy clients.

Responsibilities

• Project Engineering: Manage the full engineering lifecycle of turbomachinery control system projects, from initial concept through detailed design, implementation, internal testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and final delivery, while ensuring they meet requirements, timeframes, and budgets.
• Customer Engagement: Participate in technical meetings (IKOM, EKOM) and design reviews with clients, translating requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, field engineering, and R&D to ensure project objectives are met and solutions are aligned with customer needs.
• Engineering Documentation: Develop comprehensive project documentation, including I/O lists, Network Architecture diagrams, Control System diagrams/P&IDs, Control Narratives, Modbus lists, and FAT/SAT procedures.
• System Integration & Testing: Conduct thorough internal testing and reviews to ensure quality and compliance, then lead and manage FAT with clients, including punch-list resolution and project delivery.
• Control System Development: Program and configure PLC/DCS platforms (CCC Prodigy/Vanguard, Allen-Bradley, Honeywell Experion), develop HMI graphics, and implement industrial communication protocols (Modbus, HART, etc).
• Project Scheduling & Delivery: Collaborate with project and engineering managers to develop schedules, allocate resources, and manage timelines to ensure successful project completion.
• Continuous Improvement: Learn and master CCC's proprietary turbomachinery control application algorithms and contribute to ongoing product and process enhancements.
• Commissioning Support: Provide remote support to field engineers during on-site commissioning and troubleshooting phases.
• Change Management: Maintain and update engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle to reflect evolving customer requirements and design changes.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace or related discipline).
• Minimum of 3 years experience with turbomachinery (compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines) in industrial environments, especially Oil & Gas, LNG, or PowerGen.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation (flow transmitters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, control valves) such as Rosemount, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Fisher, CCI.
• Knowledge of Modbus protocol and other industrial communication standards (Profibus DP, HART,).

WE VALUE

• Relevant engineering experience in industrial automation or process control, ideally within Oil & Gas, LNG, or Energy.
• Experience with CCC Control Systems such as Prodigy, Vanguard, Series is highly desirable.
