Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Project Engineer II in Crawfordville, FL to lead and coordinate engineering projects. You will manage planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting and troubleshoot to meet technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost targets.

Responsibilities include supporting engineering processes, developing schedules and budgets, and coordinating resources and external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or related technical field is required.
  • 2-4 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Job Summary

Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects | Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

Essential Functions
  • Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
  • Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.
  • Provides technical support for the engineering process.
  • Designs, implements, and communicates an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.li>
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking. Design review. Project engineering. Resource planning. Technical project management. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software. Project management software.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
