Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Pullman, WA seeks an Electrical Engineer to apply power system concepts within SEL products. You will train customers, design and validate automation and protection solutions, and deliver high-quality results within scope and budget.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Experience with electric power systems and focus area practices.
  • Knowledge of protection, control, automation and comms.
  • Familiarity with power system design, studies and ICT.
  • Willing to travel 25% domestically/internationally.
  • Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills.
  • Able to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team.
  • Background check satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Responsibilities

  • Possesses, understands and applies fundamentals of power system focus area and related SEL products.
  • Train and assist customers with design, configuration, validation, installation and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
  • Complete and implement work within scope, schedule and budget with high quality and safety.
  • Participate in preparation of functional design specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports and deliverables.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering
2+ years experience

Power system design knowledge
25% travel (domestic/international)
