SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Engineer (Night Shift) that will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
Overview
Role: Project Engineer I (Night Shift)
Work location: Night shift schedule; hours are 6 PM to 6 AM, 4 days on and 4 days off (as specified in qualifications).
Responsibilities
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
- Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
- Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
- Manage, create, and distribute contract documents
- Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
- Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
- Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
- Manage submittals
- Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
- Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers
- Other duties as assigned, including: determine alternative work methods as needed; coordinate safety and compliance for all team members; maintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completion
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years related construction experience
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
- Current driver’s license
- Working hours for the night shift required are from 6 PM to 6 AM, 4 days on and 4 days off

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $82,000 - $110,700. (Actual range is higher for certain office locations: Denver, CO; Chicago, IL – 5%; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR – 10%; Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
