Job summary

Ingenium is seeking an entry‑level Project Engineer I to join our Tampa (Land O’ Lakes) area office. The role suits an engineering graduate with 1–2 years of experience eager to learn Civil Engineering and support Land Development projects.

You will contribute to CAD design, feasibility studies, calculations, and plans and reports under supervision. Strong written and verbal communication is essential as you propose solutions following current design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with AutoCad Civil 3D with hands-on project experience is a plus.
• 1–2 years of relevant civil engineering experience or internship
• Exposure to Land Development projects and civil design best practices.

Responsibilities

Ingenium is currently seeking to fill an entry‑level Project Engineer I position in our Tampa (Land O’ Lakes) area office. This role is ideal for an engineering graduate with 1-2 years of relevant experience who is eager to learn and grow in the area of Civil Engineering. The ideal candidate has been exposed to Land Development projects and been involved in various aspects of Civil design. The Project Engineer I is a critical role that provides engineering and design support to more Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers. As a result, the candidate can expect to be involved in the development and plans production on civil engineering projects of varying size and complexity, and gain first‑hand experience in CAD design processes, feasibility research and planning, calculations, and plans and report production.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential to the successful candidate as he/she will be challenged to provide innovative solutions to project issues using current design standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering documents and construction plans meeting client expectations, industry standards, and jurisdictional requirements
• Preparation of technical reports
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and other CAD design software
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, design standards, and client scope
• Ability to review designs for adherence to standards
• Ability to perform data collection, data entry and analysis of data in the preparation of technical reports
• Continuous monitoring of the quality of assignments, tasks, and project deliverables
• Willingness to provide assistance to Project Managers and Senior Engineers as required for design solutions and other project goals

Required Education and Experience

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. EIT certification is preferred but not required. Ideally this position will advance to a Project Engineer II or III role with progressive experience and proper certification. Proficiency with AutoCad Civil 3D with hands‑on project experience is a plus.
