Job summary

Aqua is seeking a Project Engineer in Ohio, responsible for the design and management of projects including tanks, booster stations, and WTP/WWTP projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, E.I.T. certification or the ability to achieve it, and two or more years of experience in water and wastewater. Job description

Overview

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Project Engineer in the Ohio region. This role is under the direction of the Engineering Manager and provides engineering support to all Divisions and Departments within Ohio. The position is responsible for the design and management of assigned projects within Ohio, including the repair or replacement of tanks, booster stations, lift stations, WTP projects, WWTP projects, regulating vaults, and related facilities.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Responsible for planning for assigned divisions/systems.
  • Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operational personnel, track capital and report to senior management on capital of assigned projects.
  • Drive the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
  • Utilize Powerplant and SAP for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for submittal of any required permits and approvals.
  • Responsible for obtaining necessary easements for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for project through entire lifecycle; selection, planning including obtaining any permits, construction, close out activities.
  • Responsible for approving pay applications and the processing of invoices.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork needed for accounting to close the project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Special Educational Or Registration Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required. Selected candidate must have Engineer In Training (E.I.T.); or ability to achieve within 12 months of hire.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio (Preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in water and wastewater is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills are required, as is the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, WEC Standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings.
  • Communication skills through plan sets.
