Job summary

Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. is looking for a Project Engineer I to lead capital projects and ensure their successful execution. You will manage all aspects of project work including design, cost tracking, and contractor coordination. The ideal candidate has over 2 years of Project Management experience and a background in manufacturing or food processing environments.

Job Description Summary

The Project Engineer position provides project leadership and direction toward the successful execution of capital projects. Depending on size, location, and type of projects, this position will lead single or multiple projects simultaneously. The role is designed to grow and develop engineering capital project management competencies so that project assignments are commensurate with the individual’s skill set and experience. This position leads project teams to deliver capital investment projects that align with business strategies, follow structured guidelines and company policies, and deliver the highest value asset allocation possible. It has immediate responsibility for the plant’s capital program and for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, ensuring successful completion within an appropriate time and cost.

Job Description
  • Responsible for all aspects of project work including design, CIR write‑ups, developing contractor bid packages, overseeing project installation, cost tracking, training, startup assistance, and post‑project support.
  • Performs analysis to develop design options and cost impacts.
  • Works with maintenance supervisors on plant issues.
  • Assists in maintaining the contractor safety program.
  • Supports the Process Safety Management program.
  • Develops and maintains the long‑term capital plan.
  • Origins formal project requests, investigates problems, and develops solutions aligned with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations.
  • Works closely with the plant engineering manager, the corporate engineering group, plant staff, and production personnel.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Payable to change purchase orders with incorrect information.
  • Assists in preparing the yearly budget for maintenance (one‑shots).
  • Responsible for procurement of materials for capital projects.
  • Manages administrative reports, system security, security checks, interdepartmental coordination, documentation, and confirmation.
  • Acquires, catalogs, and distributes SDS files to the appropriate personnel and locations.
  • Contributes to the organization’s team effort by accomplishing duties with a favorable effect on the performance of others.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience, preferably leading projects from beginning to end.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments will be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and effective communication skills.

Pay Range: $71,410.00 - $107,110.00
