Job summary

Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries seeks an accountable Project/System Engineer for Nikkiso Cryoquip in Murrieta, CA to oversee equipment design and project execution from conception to completion. You will design, schedule, and manage engineering and manufacturing activities to assure accuracy and quality.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams, with emphasis on documentation, regulations, and customer communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering or project-related experience preferred.
• Exposure to cryogenic or natural gas industry is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Direct communication with the customer for assigned projects, including handling change orders and submitting required documentation.
• Develops project objectives (budget and schedule) by reviewing proposals and plans with Engineering, Planning, and Manufacturing.
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying phases and reporting schedule performance.
• Determines project specifications by studying product design and customer requirements.
• Develops project schedule by studying plans, time requirements, and sequencing with the team.
• Maintains project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
• Controls project plan by reviewing design and plan, scheduling changes, and actions.
• Controls project costs by reviewing cost implications.
• Prepares project status reports by analyzing information and trends and recommending actions.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations.
• Maintains project database; entering and backing up data; Excel expertise is a plus.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Select mechanical components and produce related documents.
• Create / modify bills of materials.
• Prepare Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Provide technical support for the company’s sales team and site personnel for existing equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering is preferred.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering or project-related experience preferred.
• Exposure to cryogenic or natural gas industry is highly desired.
• Good communication skills, proven discipline to carry out assigned tasks with little supervision and proven Team Player.
• Advance skills in MS Office and Project suites are required.
• Experience with large manufacturing sites or construction facilities is preferred.
• Time management and Organization skills.
• Experience with engineering software such as 2D AutoCAD is highly desired.
• Experience with Pressure vessel and heat exchanger design is highly desired.
• Previous experience and success working in a dynamic and changing environment.
