Job summary

MVGeneral Construction Services in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Project Engineer I to join our growing project management team. You will support senior project managers across active commercial and institutional construction projects, handling documentation, coordination, and communication to keep projects on track and on budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction (internships count).
• Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and standard contract forms (AIA).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or P6 is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence using project management software.
• Assist with bid package preparation, subcontractor prequalification, and procurement.
• Track project costs and prepare monthly pay applications and budget reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and engineers on scheduling and field issues.
• Attend and document weekly OAC meetings and internal project team meetings.
• Support quality control inspections and maintain project photo documentation.
• Assist with project closeout including punch lists, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Help prepare diverse participation tracking reports for compliance requirements.
