Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team at one of our four Massachusetts offices: Boston, Andover, Worcester, or Yarmouth. Our Highway/Transportation Engineers work on roadway and intersection reconstruction projects, as well as bicycle and pedestrian facilities for Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), municipalities, and other state agencies.

The role includes preparing studies and designs of roadways, intersections, shared-use paths, parking lots, and other auxiliary facilities. Successful candidates should have experience designing horizontal and vertical geometry, grading, drainage, developing construction plan sets, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing estimates and specifications.

Whether leading small projects or supporting a senior project manager on larger, more complex projects, you will have opportunities for direct client contact and will be a key team member. Your ability to interpret data, collaborate with team members, and strategize project progression will help our clients provide reliable access for all travel modes, develop resilient and sustainable infrastructure, create inviting public spaces, and build transformative research and facilities.

Job requirements include:

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
• 4-10 years relevant experience
• EIT certification or ability to take the FE exam within six months of hire; PE is a plus
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Experience with other Civil Engineering software (e.g., SignCAD, ParkCAD, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam) is desired but not required
• Experience with MassDOT Design Standards is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, responsible, with a strong work ethic
