Job summary

gpac is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our heavy civil construction team in Roanoke, VA. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in mass earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, grading, and sitework.

You will support project managers, assist with schedules, budgets, documentation, and liaise with field teams. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, site development, excavation, utilities, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with day-to-day management of heavy civil and site development projects.
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, documentation, and project coordination.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents; coordinate with field teams.
