Position Overview

This position involves working closely with Clients, Vendors, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will assist project managers and superintendents. The work will be in both office and field environments, with approximately 60% spent in the field helping push the project forward to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Superintendents
  • Support public relations, claims, subcontractor back charges, and force account work
  • Help ensure contractor performance ratings above 90%
  • Process documents required to start-up projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors
  • Maintain and update project schedules and as-built drawings
  • Track quantities and manage budgets
  • Manage change orders and project close-outs
  • Coordinate schedules and inspections
  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, change order logs, and correspondence
  • Track project expenses and progress
  • Assist with schedule updates in P6
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of project engineer experience in heavy civil/highway construction
  • Experience with bridge construction and major highway projects
  • Knowledge of highway construction practices and procedures
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
