Job summary

Vistra Corp in Irving, Texas is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to initiate, develop, and execute capital and major maintenance projects for the fossil generation fleet, aligning with the Project Life Cycle Procedure, LRPs, and fleet standards.

The role includes scope development, cost estimating, bid specification development, contractor coordination, and schedule management with emphasis on safety, operability, and financial return. Up to 50% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in project engineering, project development, or major maintenance in power generation or heavy industrial environments.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree or PE licensure.
• Experience developing and executing projects for fossil generation assets or similar facilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, justify, and execute capital and major maintenance projects supporting Vistra’s fossil generation fleet.
• Own projects from identification/justification through execution and closeout, and develop/maintain standardized project plans and fleet standards.
• Develop project scopes, conceptual designs, cost estimates, schedules, risk evaluations, and business justifications for LRPs and other approvals.
• Prepare and maintain bid packages, technical specifications, and project documentation for fleet applications.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and interface with external firms to support evaluations, outage planning, and issue resolution.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
