Storm Search LLC. is hiring a Project Engineer / Field Engineer to support water and wastewater treatment plant construction across Indiana. You will work onsite with the project team and report to a Project Manager.

The role offers a clear path to Project Manager as you gain hands-on exposure to underground utilities, concrete, earthwork, and cost control. Typical duties include coordinating onsite engineering, managing submittals and RFIs, tracking materials and budgets, supporting the project

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of project/field engineering experience in construction.
• Water/wastewater, municipal, or utility construction experience preferred.
• PE license a plus, but not required.
• Willing to travel within Indiana (2-3 hour drives, some staying near site).
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Expedite material deliveries and track procurement.
• Support the project schedule (Primavera P6).
• Work with the Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.
• Prepare monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
• Review and process subcontractor pay requests and vendor invoices.
• Price change orders and assist the Project Manager with settlement.
• Interpret drawings and help resolve design conflicts in the field.
• Attend owner, engineer, and project team meetings.
• Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.

Project Engineer / Field Engineer - Water & Wastewater Construction

Location: Central Indiana (projects throughout Central and Northern Indiana)
Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 per year, plus annual profit-sharing bonus
Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (typically 40-50 hours per week)

About the Role

A large, well-established heavy civil and industrial general contractor is hiring a Project Engineer / Field Engineer to support water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects across Indiana. You will work onsite with the project team and report to a Project Manager. This company self-performs much of its own work, so you will get hands-on exposure to underground pipe, utilities, concrete, and earthwork. There is a clear path to Project Manager.

What You Will Do

What We Are Looking For

• 1-5 years of project engineering or field engineering experience in construction
• Water/wastewater, municipal, or utility construction experience strongly preferred
• Exposure to underground pipe, utilities, concrete, or earthwork is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, but not required. Strong construction experience or a trade background will be considered
• Primavera P6 experience is a plus
• PE license is a plus, but not required
• Willing to travel within Indiana (usually a 2-3 hour drive; some projects may require staying near the jobsite Monday-Thursday)
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check

Pay and Benefits

• $75,000 - $100,000 base salary, based on experience
