Stout Building Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close-out. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or current coursework) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • General knowledge of construction practices and project workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, spreadsheets, word processing, scheduling software, and construction-related technology.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close-out.
  • Ensure project start-up procedures are completed accurately and on time.
  • Create and manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders based on project scope, estimates, and requirements.
  • Maintain project schedules in MS Project for internal and external use.
  • Track and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and manage change order requests (internal and external) and maintain accurate logs.
  • Report weekly Financial & Time Exposure Forecasts to the Project Manager and Owner.
  • Assist with monthly billing by coordinating subcontractor billings, coding costs, and verifying payment applications and invoices.
  • Ensure proper accounting practices are followed for projects, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Review, distribute, track, and log material submittals; coordinate approvals and ensure timely procurement.
  • Create, distribute, track, and manage RFIs to maintain schedule and document integrity.
  • Ensure Superintendents are accurately documenting daily logs and site photos.
  • Track and manage project testing, inspections, and related documentation.
  • Maintain and distribute current drawings and specifications to all project stakeholders.
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Manage project files including safety, inspections, testing, and reporting documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing project safety plans.
  • Support project close-out activities, including punch lists and operation & maintenance manuals.
