Job summary

Stacy and Witbeck is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Operations team in Los Angeles (North Hollywood). This full-time, on-site role supports growing projects with a focus on cost control, subcontractor management, and schedule development.

The ideal candidate has a civil/mechanical/construction management background, 5–10 years of public works experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Excel. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management; or equivalent work experience accepted.
• 5–10 years’ experience on public works projects with both field and office responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to listen, engage, and influence.
• Proficiency in Excel for navigation and tracking systems.
• A valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Managing costs—including tracking quantities and cost for production operations and materials.
• Managing subcontractors, including scheduling, progress, and payments.
• Writing and managing RFIs and submittals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of contract documents and associated requirements for change orders, requests for compensation, and time extensions.
• Developing project schedules, including 3-Week and 90-Day look-ahead schedules.
• Experience on bid-build unit price and lump-sum projects with an understanding of measurement and payment requirements.
• Supporting and maintaining as-built drawings.
• Coordinating with project superintendents regarding schedule and resources (people, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers).
• Ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
• Multi-tasking and maintaining focus on the big picture while addressing daily issues.
