Job summary

Ware Malcomb in New York is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design efforts on complex building projects. You will deliver power distribution, lighting, and low‑voltage systems with an emphasis on accuracy, coordination, and project delivery.

This full‑time role requires a PE license, ABET‑accredited degree, and Revit proficiency, with mentorship and cross‑disciplinary collaboration across project teams.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete calculations supporting electrical design (load, short circuit, voltage drop) per codes.
  • Develop models, calculation packages, docs, and specs for power, lighting, low‑voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with PMs and managers to plan layouts and integrate electrical systems.
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Conduct field verifications and troubleshoot electrical systems on site.
  • Perform construction administration and site visits to ensure design intent.
  • Support development of engineering standards and QA/QC processes.
  • Mentor team members in electrical design software and tasks.
  • Lead electrical projects as Engineer of Record when assigned.
  • Conduct peer reviews and prepare reports.

Responsibilities
  • Complete computer and hand calculations supporting the electrical design, including load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop, utilizing applicable building and electrical codes while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout all phases of the project.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of models, calculation packages, construction documents, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and department managers to plan project layouts and integrate electrical systems into cohesive designs.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings, coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Conduct field work including site verifications, assessments, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Perform construction administration duties, including periodic site visits to ensure compliance with design intent and electrical standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes within the team.
  • Mentor team members in the use of electrical design and analysis software and assist in task organization.
  • Lead and coordinate electrical engineering projects as Engineer of Record (EOR) when assigned.
  • Conduct peer reviews and prepare reports on findings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience in power distribution, lighting design, and low-voltage systems is highly preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide technical guidance to team members
  • Ability to provide timely, dependable, and professional service in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong grasp of advanced financial concepts, with proven ability to perform intermediate calculations and conduct in-depth financial analysis
