Weston is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer with a background in low voltage distribution and power supply design required for miscellaneous non-commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing new systems and upgrading existing ones for applications such as electric vehicle charging, battery backup, solar power systems, pumps, and motors, with expertise in <600V power systems.

The selected candidate will have a proven track record in multidisciplinary projects, participating in electrical design from field reconnaissance and preliminary concepts through construction and field commissioning, with a focus on community learning and mentorship.

Location

Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas, Texas; West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH (remote considered for very strong applicants only)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience, preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with an active NCEES account, with the ability to obtain registration in additional states as required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industrial power supply and DOD power distribution design, EVSE, microgrids, solar energy facilities, backup generators, battery systems, or data centers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with non-manufacturing engineering consulting, environmental permitting, water treatment, and compliance projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency with analysis tools and modeling software for pipe networks and electrical systems; familiarity with CAD programs like AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is a plus.
  • Experience with construction bid evaluation, arc flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or similar software, and developing site energizing plans.
  • Effective communication skills for report writing, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to manage subcontractor and vendor quotes, develop scopes of work, and evaluate bids.
  • Capability to respond to RFPs with technical approaches and competitive pricing.
  • Good communication with engineering staff on design and technical tasks.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for federal projects.
  • Willingness to perform site visits and project inspections with effective documentation.

  • Assist in estimating and tracking project costs and schedules.
  • Develop leadership in design and project execution procedures.
  • Review and evaluate engineering data, designs, and reports.
  • Lead proposal efforts and project cost development.
  • Engage in professional societies and client interactions.

Compensation varies based on experience, education, skills, and other factors.

Salary Range: $66,400 - $88,600 - $110,700
