Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Data Center construction team in Santa Teresa, NM. The role focuses on front-line project support, coordinating on-site materials, RFIs, submittals, and change orders while serving as a primary contact for internal customers.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related fields. Entry-level experience is acceptable, with two years preferred.

  • Maintains close out log and submits relevant documentation to customer.
  • Standardizing and documenting procedures; auditing usage across job sites.

Salary Range: $55,500 to $86,000

This position primarily involves working on-site at the project location or in office. Travel frequency and duration will vary depending on the role and project timeline.

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a Project Engineer ready to be on the front lines of a project--giving daily support to the field, project management, and customer teams. Our Project Engineers (PE) are vital in keeping our processes moving along and assists in the execution of project plans. This role will be responsible for specific activities such as coordinating material onsite delivery dates, maintaining RFI, submittals, and change order logs, and will serve as a key point of contact for internal customers.

  • Act as key point of contact with internal customers for specific scopes of work.
  • Participates with Project Management on the execution of estimating activities including project bids and change orders.
  • Contributes to effective job start meetings and team meetings.
  • Supports the team by coordinating material onsite delivery dates with the project schedule.
  • Partners with CEI safety professionals to identify hazards and document.
  • Maintains complete and accurate RFI, submittal and change order logs. Maintains an organized filing system and structure.
  • Maintains current drawing log and distributes new information to team members and subcontractors.
  • Maintains close out log. Requests relevant documentation and submits to customer.
  • Standardizing and documenting the above procedures.
  • Auditing the use of standardized procedures across job sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that, in the sole judgment and discretion of Company, would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications may qualify.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

None required.

Experience:

Zero (0) years of construction or related experience required. Two (2) years of construction or related experience preferred.

Driving Record:

Valid state-issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
