Job summary

Moss is hiring a Project Engineer in Sarasota, FL to support the Project Manager and project team in commercial construction. You will help drive planning, document control, submittals, and material deliveries across a diverse portfolio including luxury, hospitality, and education facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline; internship experience preferred.
• Internship experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in construction.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with construction project management apps.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with owners’ reps, A/E teams, and departments.
• Basic finance skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Project Manager with planning and daily execution of commercial construction projects.
• Tracks submittals, delivery of materials, and document coordination to avoid conflicts.
• Coordinates project startup, site mobilization, and subcontractor/vendor onboarding.
• Expedites materials, maintains submittal logs, and reviews coordination drawings.
• Monitors costs, pay requests, and change orders; assists with budgets and proposals.
• Participates in project closeout, turnover packages, and as-built documentation.
• Engages in pre-construction activities and ensures safety compliance.
