Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and requirements.
  • Know client’s CM contract requirements.
  • Document construction activities.
  • Review Project Inspector Daily Reports for accuracy.
  • Conduct weekly progress (OAC) meetings and write minutes.
  • Review contractor CPM schedule for contract compliance.
  • Review values in conjunction with CPM schedule.
  • Support clients in required facets.
  • Act as liaison between client and contractor.
  • Keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and 3rd parties.
  • Address engineering issues with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Update project schedules and workforce planning.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, and design changes.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance.
  • Maintain filing systems and logs.
  • Coordinate field inspectors and pass information along.
  • Read and interpret plans and specs for compliance.
  • Work with design team to resolve discrepancies.
  • Visit worksites and maintain logs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer (CM) to join our award-winning team .

The Project Engineer applies sound and diversified knowledge of engineering and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordinating and managing various aspects of engineering projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects within scope, budget, and schedule. They work closely with Clients, Contractors, and 3 rd parties that are involved with projects. Typical duties and responsibilities may include one or more of the following: supervises, coordinates, directs, and reviews the work of a small staff of Project Inspectors and Project Administrators.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineering License helpful.
  • General construction knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
  • Understand building, project site systems, and construction methods.
  • Understand contract types, able to properly administer the contract obligations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in serving clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure contractor compliance to the contract documents/requirements.
  • Know the client’s CM contract requirements.
  • Able to document construction activities.
  • Regularly review Project Inspector Daily Reports for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Conduct weekly progress (OAC) meetings and write up minutes.
  • Review contractor’s overall CPM schedule for contract compliance.
  • Review contractor’s schedule of values in conjunction with their overall CPM schedule.
  • Provide support to Clients in all required facets.
  • Be the liaison between the Client and Contractor.
  • Ensure that projects are on schedule and within appropriate budget.
  • Coordinate projects with Clients, Contractors, and 3 rd parties involved with the projects (e.g., Fire Department, BOW, HECO, and DOT).
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to address engineering related issues.
  • Coordinate project and schedule updates and workforce scheduling.
  • Review and process design requirements- RFI’s, submittals, project changes.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and offer advice, training, and direction.
  • Follow established filing systems, tracking logs, and archiving standard as set forth by BK.
  • Coordinate Field Inspectors and ensure all pertinent information is passed on and noted.
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending plans and specs, be able to make connections between field plans/specs.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Work closely with design team to address any discrepancies or issues.
  • Perform work site visits and maintain logs.
  • Research and respond to RFIs as needed.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE: $67,000 – 93,000 per year depending on experience
