Job summary

Bohler's Herndon office seeks a Project Engineer ready to advance technically and professionally. You’ll lead site design efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on diverse commercial, residential, and industrial projects in the Herndon/VA area.

This role rewards problem-solving, teamwork, and building what’s next, with mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities to grow technical and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of civil/site design, grading, drainage, and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater design software.
• PE license preferred; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design site layouts, grading, drainage, and utilities for complex projects.
• Analyze zoning, site conditions, and environmental constraints to guide design.
• Perform stormwater management and hydrology calculations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to deliver cohesive packages.
• Review technical reports, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in technical training and quality review.
• Support client communication, permitting efforts, and coordination with review agencies.
