Job summary

Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental seeks a Senior Project Engineer with a municipal focus to join our Rochelle, Illinois team. You will plan, coordinate, and execute civil engineering projects, with independence to make key decisions and deliver results for diverse municipal clients.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 5+ years of experience, and PE licensure or imminently pursuing it. You will collaborate across teams, manage client relationships, and thrive under deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
• Licensed professional engineer or ability to obtain licensure shortly after starting employment.
• 5+ years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a consulting firm.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; teamwork orientation.

What you'll do Our ideal candidate is not only experienced in civil engineering but also possesses a preference for tackling challenges in transportation, private development, stormwater or hydraulic modeling. You'll make crucial decisions independently, find innovative solutions and plan and coordinate projects. As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll make independent decisions and will thrive under pressure. You'll also:

• Work effectively under tight deadlines.

What it takes Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering. If you have five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm, we want to talk. You should be a licensed professional engineer or demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after starting employment. Ideally, you will also:

• Speak and write well.
• Have strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Be a team player.
