Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Corporate Project Engineer group on multi-million dollar capital projects. The role involves planning, procurement, execution, and completion of mid-to-large projects with strict safety and cost controls.

You will lead design work, reviews, and contractor oversight to ensure on-time delivery. Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 4+ years in project management within chemical or refining

Qualifications

B.S., Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of project management experience.
Experience in Chemical, Specialty Chemical, Petrochemical or Refining industries.
PSM experience preferred.
SAP proficiency preferred.
PMP certification/desirable.

Responsibilities

Plan, procure, execute and complete mid-to-large projects.
Supervise field installation and startups to meet safety rules and project cost targets.
Design, document and manage project schedules, budgets and forecasts.
Prepare engineering designs and work specifications.
Review drawings including P&IDs and vendor submittals.
Develop RFP packages with selection criteria.
Ensure safe construction and enforce company safety rules.
Oversee contractor activities and monitor progress against the plan.
Collaborate with other engineers and technical personnel on project elements.
Identify, evaluate and report project risk per policy.
