Job summary

Elmet Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Engineering team at the Coldwater, Michigan facility.

You will lead capital projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and implement manufacturing improvements that boost safety, quality, and productivity. The role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on project management, and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to deliver on-time results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 3–7 years of engineering or project management experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience leading capital equipment, facility, manufacturing, or process improvement projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept through commissioning, including planning, design, procurement, installation, startup, and validation.
• Develop project scopes, engineering packages, equipment specifications, layouts, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage contractors, vendors, equipment procurement, and project timelines to ensure successful execution.
• Support the installation, modification, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance and equipment reliability.
• Lead new equipment qualifications and support APQP activities for new product and process launches.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
